CBS Interactive is looking for a strong, skilled, and positive Data Warehouse Engineer to deliver the BI infrastructure for
the future of online television.
The successful engineer will work across Entertainment & Lifestyle brands to assess current data needs, explore options,
and develop a BI platform in a quickly shifting competitive landscape.
The ideal candidate would have strong data warehouse experience working with Oracle databases, developing ETL
processes, building and tuning SQL queries, and designing schemas.
We're looking for a sharp, motivated developer that can architect scalable solutions, accommodate changing priorities,
and support key business analysis.
Responsibilities
Develop and enhance the Entertainment & Lifestyle Business Intelligence infrastructure
Model, consolidate, and maintain multiple data sources into an integrated data platform
Design and develop the architecture for all data warehousing components (e.g. tool integration, source system
data ETL, data staging, moving and aggregation; information and analytics delivery; data quality storage)
Writing complex analysis queries
Develop ETL processes and performance tuning
Support development of reporting and business intelligence applications
Architecting MicroStrategy projects
Required Skills/Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering
3-5 years data warehouse experience integrating large datasets in Oracle
In depth knowledge of relational modeling, dimensional modeling, and entity relationship modeling
Advanced SQL, performance tuning, and advanced analytical functions such as windowing, partition by, ranking,
pivoting
Proficiency with ETL tools (e.g. Talend, etc) and procedures
Experience with database schemas and writing SQL queries across a wide range of database engines (e.g. Oracle,
MySQL, and Netezza)
Application development experience with PHP, Java, and / or ASP.NET a plus
Web analytics experience a plus
