Director of Web Development- New York Office (relocation assistance provided)
Lime Wire, developer of the famous P2P file sharing client, and digital music store, is looking for a DIRECTOR OF WEB DEVELOPMENT to build and manage a team of Web Developers responsible for Drupal, PHP, and MySQL-based sites. The successful candidate will be an expert in scalable web-based technologies, a practiced manager, and have a record of building both onshore and offshore teams. The ideal candidate will also have experience in the agile methodology and a clear understanding of the open source community. This is a hands-on role and a great opportunity for a responsive, business-driven leader with a customer service mentality.
Responsibilities
Ensure the continued uptime and capability of LimeWire.com by producing scalable, low-defect code and solutions
Work with developers and upper management to design, build, test, release, and enhance projects and products
Manage the Web Development team and ensure that all deliverables are on track and that team needs are communicated
Create, track, and oversee the completion of various tickets for bug fixes, new product development, and LimeWire.com operation and enhancement
Support editors and writers in using the tools created to manage LimeWire.com content
Integrate third-party tools and data feeds
Translate upper managements goals into achievable project definitions
Requirements
Fluent in Drupal, PHP, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, XML, SQL, MySQL, subversion, memcache, and Shell Scripting.
Extensive experience creating and modifying Drupal modules
Strong Linux user and developer skills
Experience developing for high traffic ecommerce web sites. Experience with content sites a plus
Strong knowledge of SQL queries and MySQL relational database concepts
Solid knowledge of TCP protocols and communication techniques
Experience diagnosing and solving performance bottlenecks and root causes
Experience working with load balanced Web Servers and shared storage
Experience with OpenX, DART, Adsense/Adwords, and other adserving implementations
Experience managing developers and projects. Experience managing people remotely a plus
Exceptional communication and management skills. Experience translating technical concepts for non-technical people a plus
Strong problem solving abilities and a go-getter attitude
