Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations:

• Design, develop, and execute test cases for international wireless communications products and devices.
• Work with international development and in-country engineers to resolve issues/defects.
• Conduct black and white box testing of international products.

• Coordinate with local and offshore quality assurance teams

Specific Skills and Knowledge:

• Minimum of 5 years experience in software quality assurance and at least 2 years testing international products and mobile applications.
• In depth understanding of the software localization process and i18n-dependencies, such as Unicode compliance of the data sent to and out, sorting of strings of various encodings, date and time formats, numeric symbols and currency conventions in different locales.
• Experience working with SQL databases and with at least one scripting language – PERL, PHP, JavaScript.
• Working knowledge of Windows, Macintosh and Linux OS.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications and ability to create reports and categorize test data.
• Fluency in at least one language in addition to English.
• Knowledge of mobile telecommunication technologies and experience with wireless mobile device operating systems: Android, WinMobile, Symbian, Palm OS.
• Proficient in developing effective test cases that expose product problems, in executing tests, troubleshooting and analyzing results in a timely manner. Generate clear and convincing defect reports while working effectively with development engineers to resolve problems.
• Solid knowledge of the software development process, software QA and testing methodologies, and being able to apply these principles and perform effectively in fast paced work environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective time management with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Track record of being able to handle multiple projects.
• Ability to work independently and to deliver high quality product under strict deadlines.
• Self-starter while being a strong team player with a positive attitude.
