Java Programmer We are seeking a solid general purpose software engineer with a strong background in Java, Internet protocols and services, and a knowledge of SQL databases, standard contemporary programming languages, and a good grounding in Linux/Unix as well as Windows. The successful candidate will join a small dedicated team that is developing, expanding and maintaining new protocols and applications for Internet privacy. This involves high performance, high capacity databases, intensive transaction loading, interfaces to all standard email clients, open source encryption and key management and message handling services.
This position is full time and immediate employment in Monterey, CA.
Qualifications:
Basic requirements Java, SWT, Spring, Hibernate, Tomcat, Apache and SQL. Of additional value is prior experience in the standard email protocols and James, encryption including key management and Bouncy Castle and a good working knowledge of Unix/Linux (Fedora).
Candidate must be self-motivated, innovative, and able to work alone or as a member of a team.
Time-management, decision-making, organizational and good communications skills are a must.
Desire and ability to thrive and learn in a fast-paced, growing, dynamic environment.

Duties include:
Working on a small team that designs, develops, and maintains software components, using frameworks and tools that form the core of the companys technologies.
Collaborating with product managers, designers, customers and other members of the project team in requirements specification, technology designs, testing requirements, and scheduling.
Document and manage code development and changes according to the company’s standards.
