REQUIREMENTS:
Four year college degree required. A degree in Computer Science preferred.
Computer Science course work at the graduate level a plus. Oracle certification is preferred.
At least six years of technical support experience, of which at least four years include experience working with Oracle version 10g or higher on databases larger than 4TB. Hands on experience with Oracle RAC preferred. Knowledge of Oracle utilities, DBA tools, and Relational structures and SQL programming skills are required. UNIX/Linux expertise a must. Experience with McKesson Lab System a plus. Cache 8 experience a plus. Requires strong troubleshooting skills as well as a strong knowledge of UNIX (Linux and Solaris), and Windows OS. Strong communication, interpersonal and project leadership skills required; demonstrated ability to work with effectively with others without regard for their levels of responsibility. Will be required to be proactive and flexible and have excellent people and communication skills. Must be able to maintain a flexible hours and be available on call. May be required to travel as required in the performance of responsibilities less than 10%.

Oracle QA Engineer at Zynga (potrero hill)

Zynga is looking for an Oracle QA Engineer to join their growing team! The QA Engineer conducts tests on the company’s Datamart and Oracle applications and infrastructure. Responsibilities include test planning, development of test procedures and processes, test data generation, requirements verification, test script execution, and documentation of test results. This person will test the extracting, transforming and loading (ETL) of data from our production application to our data warehouse with emphasis on data consistency, system testing, and auditable documentation of results.

Responsibilities:

Perform functional testing and prepare regression test scripts for ETL processes

Execute test scripts per defined ETL/DW testing processes
Document test results noting discrepancies between actual and expected results.
Develop test plans, conditions, and scenarios in support of ongoing business system applications and infrastructure

Contribute to continuing process improvement of quality assurance standards and procedures

Required Skills:

Prior experience of QA within and Oracle E business implementation or upgrade project required
Proven experience with data quality testing and regression testing

Strong understanding of mySQL, SQL, database schema , ETL , and data warehouse concepts
Experience in writing and executing SQL queries for verifying Source-to-Target mapping and transformation rules
Ability to create detailed test plans and test cases based on functional requirements and software design documents
Ability to work independently and within the rigorous testing schedules in cooperation with the project manager of the effort.
Understanding of basic accounting principles
