The primary responsibility of the position is to provide DBA assistance for deploying, troubleshooting, and supporting the databases associated with the SPECTRA Laboratory applications. Position requires that successful candidate be willing and able to be primary contact to support multiple installations as required. Individual will work closely with peers in the development of standards and in the administration of other database implementations such as SQL and Cache as assigned. Individual will also be involved in the design, development, implementation and support of existing legacy and new application software. The position may require limited travel in support of the enterprise infrastructure.

REQUIREMENTS:
Four year college degree required. A degree in Computer Science preferred.
Computer Science course work at the graduate level a plus. Oracle certification is preferred.
At least six years of technical support experience, of which at least four years include experience working with Oracle version 10g or higher on databases larger than 4TB. Hands on experience with Oracle RAC preferred. Knowledge of Oracle utilities, DBA tools, and Relational structures and SQL programming skills are required. UNIX/Linux expertise a must. Experience with McKesson Lab System a plus. Cache 8 experience a plus. Requires strong troubleshooting skills as well as a strong knowledge of UNIX (Linux and Solaris), and Windows OS. Strong communication, interpersonal and project leadership skills required; demonstrated ability to work with effectively with others without regard for their levels of responsibility. Will be required to be proactive and flexible and have excellent people and communication skills. Must be able to maintain a flexible hours and be available on call. May be required to travel as required in the performance of responsibilities less than 10%.

Essential Functions:

• Provides on-going support for users of existing systems and new applications to be implemented

• Troubleshoots issues related to financial modules in Oracle 11i including GL, AP, AR,PO, FA, Cash Management

• Ensures all processes are complying with Sarbanes Oxley key controls

• Provides functional analysis and implementation including understanding customer business requirements, gap analysis, and customization analysis

• Plans and conducts development, quality assurance and user acceptance testing and signs-off of specific enhancement requests

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

• 1-5 years experience giving functional support of Oracle 11i E-Business Suite (version 11.5.8 – 11.5.9)

• Experience with Application Desktop Integrator (ADI) 7.x

• Experience with Oracle Discoverer 4i/3x

• Experience with HRMS, preferred

Knowledge Skills, Abilities Required:

• Functional working knowledge of the Oracle’s Metalink

• Functional working knowledge of iExpense, iProcurement and Oracle Workflow, preferred

• Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal with all levels of management

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

As the Technical Systems Analyst working in our Cary, NC headquarters, you will be responsible for gathering and translating business requirements into functional specifications for the technical development team, and ensuring that these business needs are met by the delivered technology solution.
