The site also provides live audio and video game broadcasts for subscribers. In addition to subscription fees, MLBAM generates revenue through advertising and sponsorships, along with ticket sales through its Tickets.com subsidiary. The baseball league created MLBAM in 2000 through a unanimous vote of all 30 teams.

As a Java Engineer for MLB Advanced Media in our New York City office, your primary task will be to apply existing technologies to deliver new products and upgrades by creating scalable code that talks to different systems internally. Your ability to grasp requirements from multiple conversations and synthesize the pertinent information will assist you in bringing order to the process and advancing projects towards successful deployment. Most of the projects will have very short deployment cycles (a long cycle for us is two months), thereby keeping your work fresh and interesting. On top of your superior Java coding skills, experience and comfort with unit testing, debugging production issues, object/relational mapping (JDBC, Hibernate, etc.), Web services (REST, SOAP, etc.), and messaging middleware will afford you the foundation from which to establish yourself as a valuable resource. You must have:
• 5 years experience developing and maintaining Web based Java applications using Eclipse

• 4 years experience in creating and maintaining complex SQL is required. Candidate should be able to write queries involving Group By, Having Clauses. Understanding of nested queries is a plus

• 4 years experience optimizing complex SQL is required. Candidate should be able to improve execution and performance of complex application based SQL

• 4 years experience with a complete life cycle development, including migration issues, of an Enterprise Java application is required

• Strong experience at problem solving and troubleshooting

• Strong ability to demonstrate clear, concise, effective verbal and written communication skills

• BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required

JOB: SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER

QUALIFICATIONS:

5+ years experience in software development with 2+ year in Java programming. Solid working knowledge of UNIX, preferably Linux.
Experience working high volume e-commerce web development applications and tools. Expertise with Object-Oriented Design and implementation. Expertise in data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis. SQL experience a plus, MySQL a big plus.
Strong background in relational database. Good communication skills. BS or MS in Computer Science from a Top Tier University.

As the successful Java Architect, you will design and implement an integration solution that enables a seamless flow of data between a billing system and a workforce management tool.

This role is located in downtown Seattle but the good news is that this engagement can be performed remotely, with an anticipated 25% travel to Seattle. Our client is looking for someone who can commence this assignment by the end of February 2010 and can hit the ground running.

As the leader of this integration project, your responsibilities will run the entire length of the SDLC, from participating in requirements gathering sessions, creating detailed design documentation, and architecting the integration deployment strategy (including software applications and recommended physical hardware specifications). This is a hands-on role in which you will be required to create crucial components of the solution using Mule, Java and related J2EE technologies. The team you will be coordinating with will include a less senior java developer, Business Analysts and a Project Manager.

The ideal consultant for this role will have an extended work history of successful Billing systems integration assignments in the Telecommunications/ Cable TV industry. Specifically, if you have architected solutions utilizing Mule ESB integrating the Kenan FX Billing system and TOA scheduling applications, you will be a strong candidate. An experienced Java Architect who has worked with open source ESB, other integration tools such as Tibco or WebMethods and billing systems would also be a potential fit.
