
Ruby on Rails Software Engineer
WhiteGlove House Call Health is looking to hire 1-2 bright, driven Software Engineers to be part of a team building complex technology and software systems that will support our rapidly growing business. WhiteGlove House Call Health is a new choice in medical care that offers our members exclusive access to high quality, affordable routine care at the home or work, 7 days a week, from 8am to 8pm. WhiteGlove is not a health insurance but rather a medical care provider. We are on the web at www.housecallhealth.com. We currently provide our services in major metropolitan cities in Texas like Austin, Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio and have plans to expand nationwide. The ideal candidate will be a highly-motivated, very bright, team player and have:
3+ years web app development experience, and a good understanding of key web standards and n-tier systems. 1+ years experience working with Ruby on Rails (RoR). Good understanding of distributed systems. A strong Software Engineering background. Excellent RDBMS and SQL skills (experience with more than one RDBMS a plus). Strong networking skills (understanding of the ISO-OSI model a plus), and a general understanding of the different internet protocols. Hands-on experience with a version control system such as git, svn, cvs or similar. Experience in designing and implementing distributed systems. Familiarity with the Linux OS and basic systems administration skills. Bachelor or Masters Degree in CS or related field.
Other desirable attributes or experience:
UI design and implementation, CSS, JavaScript and AJAX (experience with jQuery or Prototype a plus). Crystal Reports, or similar reporting development experience. Experience developing on other web frameworks, other high-level programming languages, OOP, design patterns, etc. Information security knowledge.
