MOTOBLUR is an innovative cloud-assisted solution to manage and integrate messaging, social networking, and other web services and will debut on the T-Mobile/Motorola CLIQ with MOTOBLUR Android smartphone. This product aggregates contacts, posts, messages, photos and more from sources including Facebook®, Twitter, MySpace®, Gmail, and Microsoft Exchange and many more to come.

Android is the first free, open source and fully customizable platform built for the mobile internet. Android offers a full stack: an operating system, middleware, and key mobile applications from Google and other. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES/EXPECTATIONS:

You will be part of the Server Engineering team. This role will focus on building server applications that support our mobile devices. You will be part of a small team with an opportunity to own and drive the delivery of back-end applications in a fast paced environment. This team is responsible for designing consumer applications that are highly scalable, highly optimized, high performing, and used by Android devices.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

You will have responsibility for all aspects of design and implementation with a strong emphasis on architecture and leveraging the latest open source technologies! This individual will be interfacing with Product Management, Quality Assurance, Operations, other development teams, and our partner companies.

At least 10 years of experience in software development, preferably as a Server Engineer

Passion and desire to design and deliver innovative new mobile applications

Demonstrated experience developing service oriented architectures (SOA)

Experience with two or more popular web frameworks like Spring, Struts, Hibernate,
Lucene, Wicket and Hadoop

Familiar with web front end technologies like JQuery and Dojo

Experience with in high-performance, high scalability Java programming

Expert in multi-threading and concurrency concepts
Experience with the following products and technologies: Linux, Apache, Tomcat, MySQL,
Java
Good understanding of network protocols, especially TCP/IP and HTTP
Good understanding of database design and SQL

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Results oriented, product focused

Team player, values the project, company and co-workers. High energy and passion
towards integrating new features
