Software Engineer UX Designer (Lake Oswego)

Position Summary:

The Software EngineerX DESIGNER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR DESIGNING WORLD CLASS USER INTERFACES AND BUILDING ASP.NET APPLICATIONS FOR OUR INDUSTRY LEADING COMPLIANCE SOLUTIONS.

This position is 20% UX Design and 80% Development.

Primary Accountabilities:

• Design, develop and maintain web applications using the latest Microsoft development tools such as ASP.NET 3.5/4.0, C#, WCF, Silverlight, Expression Blend, and the Entity Framework.

• Design and implement C# components that get deployed across multiple tiers of our SaaS application.

• Design user interfaces for EthicsPoint’s industry leading web based compliance solution.

• Interact with Product Management to determine needs for user interface.

• Implement current industry technologies and best practices in UX design.

• Investigate, analyze and make recommendations to management regarding technology improvements, upgrades and modifications regarding user experience and usability.

• Deliver high quality projects within agreed upon timeframes.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar technical discipline or equivalent experience.

• 4+ years of Software Engineering experience; Demonstrated success developing a variety of software systems while taking on increasing responsibility for analysis, design, implementation and deployment tasks

• 3+ years experience in developing web-based, n-tier systems in a .NET environment using C#.

• 3+ years experience as a UX designer. (Must be able to show portfolio of past designs).

• Experience working in a SCRUM environment.
• Experience with Agile software development practices

• Knowledge of following technologies:

o WPF

o Microsoft Silverlight

o Microsoft Expression Blend

o Javascript, CSS and JQuery

o LINQ to SQL and\or Entity Framework

o Visual Studio 2008 with Team Foundation Server Integration
o Human Factors \ Usability Design

o Test Driven Development

o Photoshop, or equivalent graphical application.
