As the successful Java Architect, you will design and implement an integration solution that enables a seamless flow of data between a billing system and a workforce management tool.

This role is located in downtown Seattle but the good news is that this engagement can be performed remotely, with an anticipated 25% travel to Seattle. Our client is looking for someone who can commence this assignment by the end of February 2010 and can hit the ground running.

As the leader of this integration project, your responsibilities will run the entire length of the SDLC, from participating in requirements gathering sessions, creating detailed design documentation, and architecting the integration deployment strategy (including software applications and recommended physical hardware specifications). This is a hands-on role in which you will be required to create crucial components of the solution using Mule, Java and related J2EE technologies. The team you will be coordinating with will include a less senior java developer, Business Analysts and a Project Manager.

The ideal consultant for this role will have an extended work history of successful Billing systems integration assignments in the Telecommunications/ Cable TV industry. Specifically, if you have architected solutions utilizing Mule ESB integrating the Kenan FX Billing system and TOA scheduling applications, you will be a strong candidate. An experienced Java Architect who has worked with open source ESB, other integration tools such as Tibco or WebMethods and billing systems would also be a potential fit.

As a Software Architect, you will be leading the design and development of our clients product. You’ll provide technical leadership and mentoring to a small, collaborative team of seasoned engineers. Merchant Integration (San Jose, CA)

The Solution Architect is responsible for working with Seller’s and Partners to optimally onboard and optimize their eBay channel solution,, as well as vetting those solutions with various groups within eBay. This role reports into the lead of Professional Services and works hand-in-hand with eBay’s Business Development and Account Management teams, the Solution Architect will be responsible for solution definition during pre-sales and integration.

This role will require direct interface with merchants, so excellent written and verbal communications are required, as well as excellent client management skills.

Internally, the Solution Architect will be responsible for reviewing and identifying Product ideas in the very early stage with various Product groups within eBay. The Solution Architect will be expected to review internal Requirements Documents to ensure the products proposed are viable and usable from a seller’s perspective.

As much as 25% travel is required.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Work hand-in-hand with eBay’s Business Development teams:
• Work with Integration lead to conduct discovery meetings to determine the optimal solution for the merchant or partner specific situation.
• Provide an overview of eBay products both functionally and technically (APIs, and SDKs) to merchants and partners.
• Provide the Merchant or Partner with any relevant documentation for their specific solution.

Manage Internal Relationships:

• Work with eBay’s Product Team as requested to help drive new product functionality and enhancements.

Qualifications:

• A passion for learning new technologies and solving problems, and interacting with a variety of merchants.
• Experience with Internet technologies a must (Web Services/SOAP, HTML, HTTP, FTP, and SSL).
• 4+ years experience in on major programming language (C++, Java, .NET, COM, PHP, Ruby, etc) required. Knowledge of multiple languages is preferred.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Previous experience in Sales Engineering or Professional Services preferred.
• Experience with Payments a plus.
