Perceptive Software’s in-house web development team is responsible for the design, maintenance and constant upgrading of the corporate website, www.perceptivesoftware.com as well as other company-owned domains. The site receives generous traffic from partner sites and search engines and accomplishes several important initiatives for the company, including lead generation and customer support. You will design fantastic new site designs, troubleshoot HTML, write markup for new pages, craft elegant and efficient CSS, wrangle with jQuery, and then work with our dev team to get your work out to the world.

Qualifications

A minimum of two years designing and developing for the web.
A thorough knowledge of web standards, CSS-based design and the importance of valid HTML.
Those who employ the blink tag need not apply.
The ability to code by hand outside a WYSIWYG editor.
A passion for usability, clarity and accessibility.
An eye for web design basics: whitespace, color and an understanding of iconography.
Consideration of website architecture, navigation structures, file-naming conventions and minimizing HTTP requests.
Knowledge of image-editing software. Fireworks is OK; Photoshop is ideal.

Preferred Qualifications:

Client-side scripting ability using the jQuery framework.
Experience working in a Java server environment.
Experience with Flash, ActionScript and complex interactive projects.
You must have an online portfolio that demonstrates your technical and design skills, along with at least three live URLs exhibiting real-world work. This work should show aesthetic aptitude and proficiency with color, typography and layout, as well as demonstrate your competence in front-end development. FILTER is looking for a UX Project Manager with proficiency in Expression Blend for a contract role in Redmond. This position is with a small team that works on internal-facing administrative tools for gaming groups.

The UX Project Manager is responsible for creating visual design mockups and functional specifications for a variety of tools that facilitate interview tracking, task management, team status reporting and budgeting. They are used by hundreds of people and are essential to the teams that use them. This position will coordinate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize project requirements, maintain the project schedule, and helps to manage issues and risks. In addition, the UX Project Manager will need to attend team meetings, coordinate notes and administer the team SharePoint site.

Because this position is a hybrid UX design and project management role, our ideal candidate has a professional background in both areas. We are an award winning residential real estate team, led by a top-selling real estate agent. Our offices are located in the John Hancock Building on North Michigan Avenue. Our high energy, results oriented team is looking for a Design and Marketing Intern to participate in a variety of day-to-day tasks. We are a fast-paced firm and produce a high-volume of marketing materials such as brochures, postcards and email marketing campaigns. This position is a three month internship with the potential to extend. It will provide hands-on experience in design, marketing and overall organization.

For each property we list for sale, all photos must be color-corrected and posted to the appropriate websites. A multi-page color brochure utilizing the best photos as well as other components must be created at the same time. Color-correction, design layout and brochure binding are highly important in this position.

The ideal candidate has expert knowledge in:

- Photoshop and InDesign, Dreamweaver and HTML are helpful, but not required.
- Professional or academic experience in the field of graphic design.

- Knowledge of photography.

- Knowledge of both web and print design.

Senior Interaction Designer

As a Senior Interaction Designer, we are looking for a candidate that lives and dreams design and knows how to leverage the power of Rich Internet Application (RIA) design to build intuitive, and emotionally compelling applications. Requires a thorough knowledge of interaction design principles as well as a close partnership with user research, creative and content teams. Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills are a must. Our compensation is commensurate with experience.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Employ user centered design practices and principles to create world-class, brand-leading experiences

Working closely with a cross-functional team to assess product requirements, the designer will create UI models, user task and interaction flows, screen designs, user-interface interaction details that promote ease of use and optimize the user experience for various online products

The designer will organize these design details into a complete user interface design specification that will be used as a blueprint for development

This person will partner with user research team members to better understand the user, test the usability of features and conceptual designs

Should have practical experience employing user centered design methods

The designer should be self-motivated and be able to make logical decisions to ensure the overall success of the project by creating designs that seamlessly address customer and business concerns and objectives

Keep abreast of current design tools, techniques and methodologies

Position Requirements:

At least 5 years of solid industry experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, user interface designer, or similar role, designing GUIs for websites and web applications

Advanced degree in Human Computer Interaction, Interactive Design, Cognitive Psychology or other related discipline

Must possess a solid working experience with appropriate design tools including Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, InDesign, Visio, etc.

Should have experience with international and localization design considerations

Strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills working within crossfunctional teams a must

Solid familiarity with HTML, CSS, AJAX, and Flash as well as working knowledge of designing Rich Internet Applications (RIAs)

Portfolio required

Nice to Have Skills:

Working knowledge of visual design and typography principles

Ability to create personas, profiles, and usage scenarios based

Experience working on an Agile/Scrum team preferred but not required

Web Designer (Pasadena, CA)

We are seeking a Web Designer to execute and implement strategic direction in collaboration with marketing and the product teams in each of eHarmony’s lines of business. The Web Designer will be expected to implement groundbreaking creative ideas that deliver on key performance metrics. This is a full-time staff position and will be working on-site from our Pasadena HQ.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Responsible for the design and implementation of various aspects of our online presence, such as Flash banners, promotional landing pages, email campaigns, newsletters and other online components for our services, as well as occasional print pieces
Captures advanced technical knowledge and skills, such as interactive design, user experience, marketing techniques and consumer demand, and applies them to eHarmony’s business objectives
Helps foster an open and productive atmosphere within the Creative Team
Uses drive and vision to determine emerging graphics technology and pushes to adopt these technologies in eHarmony’s environment

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Undergraduate degree in graphic design or experience in a related field is a must
Minimum of 2-3 years experience in online design at an agency, studio or contractual work
Knowledge of visual design, information design, and interaction design
Project management skills are critical including adaptability, time management and meeting objectives
Strong creative problem solving abilities
Must be flexible and resilient with the ability to give and take direction from multiple teams within the organization
Ability to interact with Senior Management, Marketing, Product Management and other internal teams
Required software and technical knowledge: Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, HTML
Knowledge of Flash and CSS is a plus
