Continually reduce product cost through design, process, procedure, and method improvement.
Collaborate with other Mizuho engineers on mechanical designs, and activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems within standard regulations.
Participate in material review board activities.
Assist other engineers and designers with technical input as necessary
More senior level engineer may lead projects and manage the related personnel.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Fluency with a 3D solid modeling package, preferably Solidworks, and AutoCad software. Adept use of Excel, MS project, Word, and occasionally MathCad.
Strong written and verbal English communication skills are required.
Ability to apply engineering principles using logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to comprehend an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form.
Ability to find creative or innovative solutions for design of mechanical parts or assemblies.

SignArt, Inc in Malden is seeking a talented student designer who is looking to intern for college credits, to begin Fall 2010.
This is an unpaid part-time position and all applicants must qualify for college course credits with this internship.

Responsibilities will include:

-Ongoing production training and assistance with large digital signage
-A wide array of graphic design projects for signs, websites and more
-General assistance in office as needed

Experience with CS to CS3 design suite on Mac OSX and knowledge of design principles is required.
Knowledge of the web, including CSS/HTML, PHP and Flash is a HUGE plus.

Part-time hours are flexible: mornings or afternoons, but mornings preferred.

They have an opening for a Sr. Software Engineer.
Full-time salaried position with stock and benefits.

Java experience is ideal.

But if you are a senior-level C++ or C# engineer and you would like a chance to work in an enterprise java position, this is a perfect job for you.
If you have a BSCS and 5-10 years professional OO software engineering experience, with an emphasis on math, science or statistics, you can join this company and get paid to learn java.

The output of this software is the subject of scrutiny at the highest levels of management in some of the largest companies in the world.

My client is looking for senior software engineers to help drive the design and implementation of their product suite.
Candidates must have experience building complex applications using Java and distributed technologies, and should be proficient in the design of server-side components and frameworks.
My client has a strong preference for engineers with architectural experience and proven design skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create value for the company through technology
Design and implement major components of the company?s product suite
Innovate in the area of marketing planning optimization
Work closely with the engineering and solution teams to implement methodology and best practices to ensure high quality products and solutions
Use automated tests and other techniques to ensure product quality

REQUIREMENTS:
Five years of hands-on experience in designing and building complex, scalable and high-performance enterprise applications using Java, C++ or C#
Experience with one or more of the following technologies: Tomcat, STRUTS, Hibernate, Oracle or PostgreSQL
Significant experience with object-oriented analysis, design and development, and distributed multi-tier designs using engineering best-practices
Experience designing for Scalability and Performance
A willingness to adopt agile development practices, including short iterations, user stories, continuous integration, shared ownership, test-driven development
BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
Comfortable with, and interested in working at a small, fast-paced, informal startup

ADDITIONAL SKILLS DESIRED, but not required:
Experience with Hadoop
Two years of recent experience in leading engineering teams and projects

Pro Bono Graphic Designers Needed
Taproot Graphic Designers are responsible for the visual design elements of a website project and assist in creating site maps and wireframes.

A successful pro bono Graphic Designer
Has 3+ years of professional experience in graphic design at an agency or as an internal graphic designer
Has extensive experience web design, graphics production, and be familiar with relevant design and production tools (i.e. PhotoShop, Illustrator, QuarkXPress, DreamWeaver, or equivalents)
Has worked with marketers and can follow creative briefs, take direction, and create several design options
Must provide a portfolio with samples of several website designs

The Designer is responsible for the original design and maintenance of HTML and Flash websites, client projects, and other design elements, including ad banners, and presentation assets. The ideal candidate will have an excellent web design portfolio and offer expertise designing user experiences for web audiences. A strong understanding of interface design and usability issues will be required during project discovery, design and development phases. The Designer reports to the Art Director or a Senior Designer. The position is located in Culver City, California.

Responsibilities:

? Conceptualize, plan, design and execute high quality original designs within the high standards of the Sony Pictures Entertainment brand and its extended properties (movies, television, games)
? Design and maintain single and multiple page websites, banner ads and other design-focused projects
? Develop new design elements for existing Sony Pictures websites (sonypictures.com, sony.com/Spider-Man, etc.) and various client projects
? Manage assigned projects from start to finish, communicate with Clients/Client Representatives, Web Developers, Production Manager, and other staff members
? Participate, contribute and brainstorm in meetings with clients and client representatives
? Manage Production Artist(s) and Associate Designer(s) on a project-per-project basis
? Recommend creative solutions to business issues
? Interview, recommend, help recruit designers
? Train and mentor Associate Designers and Production Artists
? Deliver work that?s both high quality and always on time
? Research and evaluate new design technologies and competitive websites to continuously improve quality of work
? Identify potential needs for improvements and advise senior management on potential solutions
? Communicate, work closely, and seek regular feedback from Art Director and Senior Art Director
? Organize design assets, source files and production files for easy retrieval
? Keep track of hours worked on each project for accounting purpose

Requirements:

? 5+ years experience in a full time web design position catering to brand name clients
? 1-3 years experience with brand management and entertainment
? 5+ years experience managing design projects from concept to end
? Strong time management skills required. Self managing, self-starter a must. Must be able to run with a project and make decisions on his/her own.
? Expertise designing for web related projects from ad banners to multi-page web sites
? Expert knowledge of color, space, typography, and the formal design process
? Solid experience in print design, Illustration, and/or fine art background. 3D Design a plus.
? Ability to create consistent, effective visual solutions that unite brand identification, marketing, and business objectives
? Ability to listen to clients? directions and come up with creative ways to meet requests
? Ability to manage a project with very little supervision
? Ability to create truly original designs based on generic wireframes
? Expert knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash and other industry-standard applications a must
? Must have a strong understanding of how to create a consistent look and message, and the ability to extend an established look-and-feel through a variety of interactive implementations and media
? Ability to design for multiple projects with varying timelines
? Ability to work and thrive in a team environment
? Detail oriented, possessing strong organizational skills in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
? Strong interpersonal skills required
? B.A. and fluency in other language(s) a plus
