Application Developer/Porting Engineer

(This is a 6 month Contract/Contract-to-Hire Position)

Job Scope:
Java development, and porting mobile applications to new mobile phones.
GUI Application Development on Mobile platforms (RIM/ANDROID)
Maintain and optimize existing releases of our software products.

Job Requirements:

B.S. Computer Science or Engineering required, M.S. Computer Engineering preferred
Proficiency with the Java language and SDK libraries and one or more scripting languages
5+ years experience involving “hands-on ” development, mobile device engineering, mobile software development, testing and and debugging real-time software and hardware mobile systems
Understanding of Product Lifecycle Processes
Firm understanding of object-oriented programming concepts
Working knowledge of software configuration management tools
Excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills & excellent debugging skills.
• knowledge of multimedia & streaming protocols a plus
• Self-starter, organized, takes initiative, and proactive communicator.
• Working experience with RIM/Android SDK a plus
• Technical skills involving mobile, web (HTML,XML,LISP,Javascipts)

Job description:
Web of Trust (WOT) is looking for Browser Extension Developers to join the existing development team, which has created a unique community-based safe surfing tool to help Internet users stay safe as they search, browse, and shop online. WOT add-on works currently with Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Firefox browsers.

Responsibilities:
The Browser Extension Developer position is responsible for providing software development expertise to implement projects with a particular emphasis on extensions for mobile browsers such as Mozilla Fennec and Nokia Maemo platform. Key responsibilities include software development, implementing the design, development and technical integration of the deployment projects. The individual who fills this position should be able to quickly gain an understanding of the technical complexity of the browser extension area and contribute velocity in a short period of time.

Qualifications:
We expect you to have a relevant university level degree (or you will be graduating soon) and working experience on web/software development with strong skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. You will score additional points for experience in developing browser extensions for Firefox (XUL, XPCOM), Internet Explorer (C++, COM), or Google Chrome.
