We are currently looking for a talented fulltime Senior Software Engineer for the development and maintenance of web applications, tools and/or dashboards for Move in our Campbell location. The tools and dashboards that are built will be used to support engineering, QA and/or the business intelligence groups. You will be part of an up and coming company with high potential growth and current profitability.
In this critical role you will help architect and build new applications as well as integrate and extend existing legacy applications. Your innovative engineering will change the game for our business and ensure delivery of excellent and productive tools for our internal customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include researching new technologies and intuitively knowing how and when to apply those new technologies and techniques to improve our existing tools and applications as well as the actual code implementation and unit testing of the implemented system, tool or enhancement.
This person is energetic and highly enthusiastic about technology always looking for a better or more efficient way to do something or a new technology to learn – constant improvement. Even in an individual contributor role, this person will look for opportunities to share his/her knowledge and best practices with other team members and equally enjoys interacting and learning from others. This person is able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and has the ability to work well under varied time constraints and without close supervision and show a demonstrated ability to make high quality decisions independently.
Candidate must have a proven track record of successful, real-world creation of web applications using .NET, J2EE and/or Ruby on Rails as well as knowledge of one or more scripting languages (bash, Ruby, Perl, etc). The candidate must have a solid understanding of CSS, HTML, XML and JavaScript.
This person has a strong background in object-oriented development and design, SQL, relational database design and operation. Has experience with the configuration, operation, maintenance, administration, and performance tuning of web application infrastructures (e.g., installing and configuring software, automated start-up scripts, apache web server configuration, automated log file rotation)
Candidate needs to exhibit full service capabilities as the responsibilities will include research requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, documentation, and maintenance.
Education, Skills and Experience:
BSCS or related; MSCS preferred.
5+ years experience in building software in a fast-paced environment
Multiple successful releases of web applications using .NET, J2EE and/or Ruby on Rails
Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit
Experience using a configuration management tool (CVS, SourceSafe, Git, etc.)
Development experience with SOA preferred
Familiarity with design patterns and ORM technologies such as Hibernate a plus
Expertise in UI Frameworks such as Flex, AJAX, JSF, YUI is highly preferred
