Our front-end is developed using CakePHP and the heavy lifting (backend) is developed in Python using MySQL. We love Open Source software and many of our engineers are active in the community. We are looking for passionate technologists. We have a number of very challenging architectural efforts under way and need to hire 3-4 engineers with either a PHP or Python background.

Skills & Experience-

A BS or MS in Computer Science.
5-10+ years of professional software development experience.
2+ years of professional experience with either PHP or Python.
Experience with Javascript/Ajax, CSS, HTML is a plus.
Strong understanding of Linux.
Experience with MySQL or similar.
Any Open Source contributions are a huge plus. Any side projects relating to learning and using PHP or Python is also a plus.
Prior startup experience.
Passionate about PHP or Python. Enthusiastic about developing quality software.

Small, Fast Paced Startup that has already achieved profitability is looking to add a mid to senior level engineer to their team. Over the past 2 years they have averaged 75% growth and their largest competitor was just acquired for a few hundred million dollars. Join a 5 person engineering team working on very high volume web applications. The work involves web analytics, data mining, and end-to-end development. They use Ruby on Rails as well as other web technologies. You don’t need to have prior professional experience in Rails. We are looking for overachievers/generalists/engineers with a broad background. An ideal candidate would have a few years of professional experience developing software in Python/perl/php/C++, etc and have experience with ajax/js and be somewhat strong in SQL. New Development Effort Java (Boston area)

I am working with a small software company in the city and they are on fire! My client has had double digit revenue growth for each of the past 5 years and they were recently named one of the fastest growing privately held high-tech companies in the whole U.S. by multiple publications.

About 1 year ago, the engineering team split into 2 teams – a Core Team and an Advanced Development “R&D-like” team. The Advanced Development Team is hiring 2 engineers (which would grow that team to 5/6). They are developing the next generation of the company’s flagship product as well as developing proof-of-concepts and prototypes for F500 customers who have come to them with a high level of interest in their technology.

This team is comprised of a great group of guys who are friendly, talented, and motivated. Everyone gets along well with each other and there is a great team vibe. Also, the other very positive aspect regarding this opportunity is the technology involved. Yes, they are using the latest Java / JavaEE technologies and frameworks, but they are also using groovy / grails, gwt, etc. and looking into things like Scala, Rails, Flex, etc.

One of the open roles is for a Senior / Principal Engineer.

The other role is for a Systems Architect. So everything below applies, but they also want someone with experience in clustering tomcat, clustering messaging servers, and/or experience in scaling a complex large system. Basically, they are looking for someone with strong technical chops who can also help build their next generation infrastructure. Someone who can help figure out what they need for hardware / software and what needs to be built in-house, and what 3rd party vendor packages should they consider / evaluate, etc. This is a VERY IMPORTANT role and their highest priority.

Skills and Experience:

At least a B.S. in Computer Science.
Strong Java knowledge and experience.
Experience developing applications end-to-end. Able to answer technical questions on the UI, server-side, and databases.
Some experience with the following: Spring, Hibernate, Java 5 / 6, ajax, Rest / Soap, GWT, etc.
Any Groovy / Grails is nice to have, but is not required.
Important – must be a technology enthusiast. They all love learning and are very involved in the local Java / tech community.

The Advanced Dev Team is looking for a few engineers currently. One Technical Team Lead and 2 mid-level to senior level engineers

I am working with a small software company in the city and they are on fire! My client has had double digit revenue growth for each of the past 5 years and they were recently named one of the fastest growing privately held high-tech companies in the whole US by multiple publications. About 1 year ago the engineering team split into 2 teams, a core team and an Advanced Develoment “R&D-like” team. The Advanced Dev team is hiring 2 engineers (which would grow that team to 5/6). They are developing the next generation of the compay’s flagship product as well as developing proof-of-concepts and prototypes for F500 customers who have come to them with a high level of interest in their technology.

This team is comprised of a great group of guys who are friendly, talented, and motivated. Everyone gets along well with eachother and there is a great team vibe. Also, the other very positive aspect regarding this opportunity is the technology involved. Yah, they are using the latest Java/JavaEE technologies and frameworks but they are also using groovy/grails, gwt, etc and looking into things like Scala, Rails, Flex, etc.

One of the open roles is for a Senior/Principal Engineer

The other role is for a Systems Architect. So everything below applies but they also want someone with experience in clustering servers, clustering messaging servers, and/or experience in scaling a system. Basically they are looking for someone with strong technical chops who can also help build their next gen infrastructure and can help figure out what they need for hardware/software and what needs to be built in house/what 3rd party vendor packages to look at and evaluate, etc.
