1044 IS Engineer – Principal (San Francisco)

Position Objective:

The Community Health Network (CHN) Information Systems Department is accepting applications for two (2) full-time, Permanent Exempt positions in class 1044 IS Engineer to function as the IS Transition Team Principal Network Engineer at Laguna Honda Hospital (LHH).

These positions are of a limited duration – up to six (6) months.

Essential Duties:

Under the direction of the IS Transition Team Project Director, and the CHN Chief Technology Officer, the qualified candidates will serve as lead network engineers performing all aspects of support and modifications of the data network at the newly constructed Laguna Honda Hospital.

These positions will require very rapid knowledge transfer from onsite consulting vendors that are completing the implementation of the CISCO Network Infrastructure. Therefore we expect to hire engineers with recent relevant experience using the same model or type of equipment.

The essential job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Perform monitoring and support of the complex network infrastructure of LHH;

• Perform network design;

• Manage other engineers and assign project tasks;

• Perform work breakdown of project tasks;

• Develop fully executable project implementation plans;

• Communicates with the Project Director and internal engineering teams regularly and provides frequent status reports;

• This position may require participation in 24 hour on call support. The nature of the support will require the applicant to be able to perform configuration and support tasks;
