PROJECT MANAGER (Mid-Wilshire)

The role of the Project Manager (PM) in the Los Angeles office will serve as the primary liaison between business account teams within UM and the Mediabrands technology community. The PM will work with client-facing teams and global functions to define information strategies that enable and support our ability to deliver world-class communication solutions. The Los Angeles PM will have a concentrated focus on UM’s Sony client account and work with all Sony teams based in Los Angeles to deliver client projects.

The role is also responsible for managing multiple projects within the constraints of scope, quality, time and cost, to deliver specified requirements and meet client satisfaction. Project work includes business analysis, requirements gathering, building use cases, project management and status reporting, testing and documentation. Projects may include new custom development or enhancements to existing applications, building collaborative solutions such as SharePoint intranets / extranets or business intelligence tools. Technical development of project work can be proprietary (internal) or through third party vendors (external). The PM will work closely with the UM Los Angeles account leads, the Mediabrands internal development department, field service technicians, various vendors, as well as a variety of other personnel across the Mediabrands agency business units.

Responsibilities:

Manage all technology-related needs and requests that originate in the assigned account teams and/or global function teams.
Actively participate in business plan development to identify and evaluate new technology projects in support of client and agency needs.

Full cycle project management following appropriate Mediabrands SDLC methodologies as directed by the PMO Director – Assemble key players for the project team, direct, motivate and manage the team, delegate responsibility and tasks, establish and update plans with actuals and forecasts, delivery to time and cost, report to respective stakeholders, conclude the work documentation upon completion.

Ensure all project requirements and objectives are properly documented and followed.
Identify the stakeholders and verify the key success indicators as the basis for managing the projects.
Ensure timely activity, integration and productivity of technical support, and administer efficient use of resources to meet requirements.
Manage trade-offs between scope, quality, time and cost.
Facilitate project risk reviews and appropriate mitigation.
Escalate issues to the next level of management.
Document and track all changes in project parameters, prepare end of project reports, close all project documentation and archive appropriate records.
Produce application user documentation as appropriate for project size and user community.

Qualifications:

PMP certified.
5+ years of experience in projects, involving the same or similar technology and media systems.

Operational knowledge of core media planning, campaign management, buying, and transactions technologies in the traditional media and digital space; including but not limited to MediaTools, IMS, Brandfx, Symphony Media, Donovan, TNS, Competitrack, and AdRelevance.

Technical competence and/or solid foundational understanding of the following technologies; .NET framework, SQL Server, Windows operating systems, MOSS 2007, ASP, Java/J2EE, relational data structures and database management systems such as SQL Server and Oracle and reporting environments, such as Microsoft ProClarity.

Experience with business intelligence systems, including OLAP, data mining, reporting and querying software, business performance management, and dashboards.

Experience with data warehouse architecture; the means to store data, retrieve and analyze data, and management of data dictionaries.

Ability to lead, influence and negotiate to achieve business strategies and deliver results for high level internal/external partners, including key vendors.

Goal oriented and action-focused with strong time-management, problem solving, multi-tasking and organizational skills.

Good at project planning, communication, team motivation and delegation.
Ability to plan, monitor, and implement projects in timely manner using cost effective methods required.
Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

4 years minimum experience in ASP.NET, ASP, XML, XSL and CSS required. Development experience in MOSS 2007 (SharePoint) REQUIRED. Lotus Notes Domino experience preferred. The primary role of the developer is to develop solutions in SharePoint using XSL(-T), CSS, HTML and ASP.NET and C# that will be migrating from Lotus Notes Domino. SharePoint knowledge is important but experience in the web technology is the main requirement. The developer works directly with the BA (and on larger projects Sr. Developers and Quality Technicians) to understand requirements and deliver solutions. Technical skills are the key to this role but we also require excellent communication skill (both written and oral). This role can entail true development or design and configuration in technologies like SharePoint or Media Servers. Design experience is required for this role. This role also has responsibility for ensuring how projects are developed and what approach is taken based on corporate standards (SharePoint, .NET, Web, Usability). This role is primarily a development task oriented role but also is accountable for design approach and following standards as well as making sure that other developers on their project follow set standards if more than one developer is on the project. This role will not define these standards and approaches but will need to work within our governance model and ensure that the team does as well. This role works very closely with the BA to ensure that all requirements are being met and will work with Quality Assurance (QA) to make sure that a quality product is delivered for projects that need extra QA above what the BA will provide. This role may also work on the estimation process for projects along with the BA. This role may also include quality aspects as does the senior business analyst depending on project requirements.
