The Executive Director, Marketing Intelligence is the leader in measuring marketing effectiveness and optimization. The role requires a history of exhibiting impact in a leadership capacity with complex, global clients. As a senior leader, they will work with other leaders to develop methodologies and standards for the delivery of analytical capabilities and tools to quantify marketing goals and communication performance.
The person who fills this role will be a champion of new marketing methods and will play a large role in educating client and agency partners about the value of digital experience to their brands. The successful candidate will have a strong background designing test-and-learn strategies to quantify marketing goals and communication performance. The candidate should have experience creating measurement plans, recommending data collection methods spanning all touch points of the digital engagement, performing statistical analysis to glean quantitative insights, and report results back in an actionable manner. Experience developing actionable optimization plans based on this analysis is a must. Although much of the work is focused on measuring success within online, holistic measurement experience (broadcast, print and digital) is recommended
The agency has developed several proprietary ROI and optimization models the impact both discrete elements of the media mix and the overall media mix, online and offline. The ideal candidate is expected to add insight and practical knowledge to this critical aspect of the business. The ability to lead a team of highly skilled subject matter experts and effectively integrate analytics into other teams including: Creative, Strategy, and Account is also a must.
The Executive Director, Marketing Intelligence will work with clients, agency partners, and internal discipline leads in strategy, creative, online media, engineering, and business development to champion new capabilities in digital analytics and optimization. A high comfort level interacting with C suite client executives and agency partners is also required. The Executive Director, Marketing Intelligence will play an important role in driving toward a more strategic position in client relationships and in the industry.
Education/Work Experience
• 15+ yrs overall experience preferred including:
o 15+ yrs experience working in marketing analytics and interactive marketing.
o Experience in building, growing and leading successful analytic teams (either in an office, practice, or global teams of 15+). Proven history of growing a discipline or major service.
o Experience in an interactive work environment. It could be a media company, planning agency, integrated marketing agency, or media & entertainment property.
• Inspirational leader – exhibits integrity, and respectful interactions with past recognizable clients, superiors, peers and subordinates.
• Ability to manage and be held accountable for resources, revenues and budgets.
• Client-focused – builds long term high-level relationships with C suite executives that reflect well on the client, proven history in business management and growth. Exceptional new business record.
• Strong competency developing measurement plans including test design, data collection, analysis, reporting, and optimization recommendations.
• Superior collaboration and communication skills. Understands and can both, manage and work within a matrix management organization.
• Keeps current on digital technology and marketing trends.
• Significant experience building relationships with the marketplace to identify innovative digital platforms, programs, and partnerships.
• Personable; very poised; a strong conceptual thinker; have high energy; exhibit excellent writing, communication and presentation skills.
• Familiar with various analytic tool and ability to glean learnings from disparate sites and systems (for example, Coremetrics / Omniture).
• Able to thrive in a “non-traditional”, entrepreneurial environment.
• Availability and willingness to travel 35% of time.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• MBA strongly desired.
