What We Do: At Cappex, we help students across the country find the
right college. Our revolutionary approach allows students to be sought by
colleges across the country while keeping the student’s contact information
private. Once a student hears from a college, the student decides if they want
to release their contact information.

The Role: The service we provide is only as good as the information we
make available to students. We are expanding our team to focus on providing the
most relevant and reliable information possible. This person will work with
colleges and scour the web to uncover and document information for our website.
The role will vary over time. Initially, much of the work will be focused
around online research – lots of “face time” with search engines and
college websites. In later stages, a portion of the work will shift to
interacting with college employees to verify and refine the information that
has been collected. We’re just starting this department, so we’re interested in
hearing from anyone who feels they can make a significant contribution.

The Right Candidate: We’re looking for a bright self-starter who has a
knack for finding information on the web. This person needs exceptional
attention to detail – a stickler for accuracy and grammar. The right person is
extremely well organized and probably has a long-standing love affair with
color-coded file folders, sticky notes, and spreadsheets.

The right candidate will have a positive “can-do” attitude; eager to
tackle challenges and show this company what they’re worth!

While we’ll consider any qualified individual, the ideal candidate will
probably hold a degree in English, Information Systems, or Journalism.

Required Skills:
- Exceptional written English skills. The interview requires a writing and
proofreading test.
- Fast worker. With thousands of colleges to tackle, speed is critically
important.
- Excellent attention to detail. You’re probably the kind of person whose
checkbook is always balanced and whose commas are always in the right place.
- Strong internet expertise. Must have skills in using advanced search engine
query techniques and a current knowledge of internet trends.
- Great organizational skills. All this information you uncover….we’re going to
expect you know how to organize it and find it later so we can use on the site.

- Solid PC skills. Must be able to use browsers, spreadsheets, and word
processing programs with no additional support.
- Editing skills. Must be able to review the work of others, quickly providing
accurate corrections and feedback.

Additional Desirable Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree is highly desirable.
- Outstanding people skills — particularly, the ability to relate to busy
professionals from other companies in a courteous, insightful and efficient
way.
- Internet programming experience with HTML and CSS.
- Prior customer service responsibilities
