14 yrs of experience. Mostly R&D projects, scientific HW/SW systems. Mostly C++/MFC and Python on Windows. Some Java, Linux, Android. Fan of agile methods, including automated unit & functional tests. BS Physics. BA Mathematics/Economics. 30 units of Computer Science. Not a web expert, but some experience, and anxious to dive in.

While I can work in a wide variety of environments, my sweet spot is on a small highly-collaborative team working on something new and difficult. I’ve worked on a number of world’s-first projects, where there was no obvious way forward, other than diving in, getting a minimal system working, and then iteratively evolving the feature set. It was a joy to learn new domains, tools, languages, and libraries along the way.

We are looking for someone with Pythonic way of viewing code, who can drive a product, is not afraid to try new technologies and out of the box thinking to solve problems. You spend your spare time reading PEPs, think list comprehensions are addictive, worked on python web frameworks like Django, pylons…you even downloaded and tested out tornado to see what the fuss was about, and have some opinions on Python-3.

You must be well versed with building a web front-end as well like understanding the intricacies of CSS, using Javascript libraries but are not completely dependent on them, you may have written some native Javascript code that would make Resig proud of including it as a plugin OR atleast your favorite javascript book is Crockford’s “Javascript, The good parts”.

We are very early stage, so your view and your code and your thoughts will make all the difference.
