SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This position is a full-time permanent position and requires the employee to work on-site in Westlake Village, CA. No relocation is available.
Cyber-Rain is looking for a highly motivated, well-rounded person to join the team of a fast moving and dynamic start-up. The two primary responsibilities of the Technical Assistant are Technical Support and Quality Assurance. As our customer base grows, more technical support is needed. We are looking for a patient, customer service minded individual to join technical support. Additionally, as we launch new products and improve existing ones, more in-house Quality Assurance is needed. The two go hand in hand understanding our product lends to helping customers with tech support and getting feedback and helping customers with tech support helps us improve our product.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be familiar with multiple operating systems and skilled in diagnosing software and hardware issues. Examples of desired knowledge are listed below:
Thorough understanding of PCs, Operating Systems (Windows 7, Vista, XP) – know the differences between them and typical support/upgrade issues.
Knowledge of diagnostic tools to troubleshoot networking problems with Windows and Mac systems.
Experience with Tech Support and troubleshooting issues is a plus, such as issue tracking, escalation, reproduction of the problem, etc.
QA experience is a plus. Ex. regression testing, bug tracking and reproduction.
SKILLS:
Pleasant demeanor, patience and good verbal/written communications are must. Ideal candidate is comfortable and confident on the phone and articulate through email. Must be able to speak in laymans terms and patiently work with technologically-challenged customers.
Technology Tinkerer. Must have passion about new technologies and gadgets and innate curiosity about how they work. If handed a product, our ideal candidate wants to figure out how it works with little direction.
Ability to articulate problems or new features to software development team. Must be able to write problem reports and review and assist with documentation.
Organization and multi-tasking is a must. Typical day includes juggling various tasks based on priorities and keeping track of open and closed issues.
Good diagnostic skills. Must be able to think creatively and logically to identify the causes of support issues.
Self motivated/self starter
Some programming skills is a plus — HTML, C#, CSS
Some experience with irrigation a plus, but not required.
