Sophic Associate Scientific Software Engineer (SSE). Use the flexible/agile Biomax

A Senior Software engineer works within a development team, taking responsibility for technical design, implementation, and testing. They will work closely with the Technical, Project and QA managers to ensure on time and on quality delivery of websites and applications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Builds web applications on the .NET platforms

- Defines and documents technical architecture based on project requirements

- Works closely with interface engineers to integrate back-end functionality

- Performs light system administration duties within client development environments
- Programming Languages: C#

- Database Platforms: SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL
- Server-Side Scripting: PHP, Perl, Cold Fusion
- Web Services: REST
- Markup Languages: XML, HTML, XAML
- Build Tools: Apache Ant, NAnt
- Version Control Systems: Subversion

EXPERIENCE

- At least 5+ years’ experience designing and building web applications using .NET technologies

- Extensive ASP.NET MVC, LINQ and delegate-based programming

- Extensive experience creating Web Services (WCF experience a plus)

- Expertise in C#

- Real-world Design Patterns experience and knowledge

- Extensive OO Design and Development

- Extensive experience with SQL Server 2005+

- Entity Framework

- Win Mobile development experience a plus

- UML for application design documentation

- System Administration (Active Directory, IIS and Win 2003+ setup and configuration)

- Cloud hosting platform experience (Azure) a big plus

- Architecture, Design, Scoping skills a huge plus

- Experience with Agile process and development planning a plus

- Silverlight development skills a huge plus

EDUCATION

- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
