Dark Horse Comics is seeking an experienced web developer at our office in Milwaukie Oregon. If you have a passion for developing reusable object-oriented code and like a creative and casual work environment, then look no further!
Responsibilities:
Develop new web-based applications in Python/Django/PostgreSQL in an Agile environment
Meet documentation, testing and code style guidelines with frequent peer code reviews.
Maintain legacy systems in PHP/MySQL.
Provide QA, code reviews, software design assistance/critiques to the small team of developers you will be joining.
Required Skills:
Degree in technology-related field or significant related experience
3+ years programming experience in one or more of: PHP, Python, Java, C++, or Ruby with demonstrable object-oriented programming skills
Experience with MVC web application frameworks and OO design
Familiarity with version control systems, project management systems and issue tracking systems
Solid knowledge of relational databases and SQL
Ability to work in a fast paced team environment, set priorities, meet deadlines
Ability to communicate with non-technical users to identify issues and requirements
Experience working with medium- to large-size production websites
Additional consideration for:
Experience writing cross-browser W3C-compliant HTML, CSS, Javascript/AJAX
Experience with performance tuning and optimization of web applications
PCI Compliance and security standards
Experience with unit testing, integration testing, automated documentation generation or code reviews in a professional setting
