The Website Manager position is responsible for the execution of customer acquisition programs for our B2C websites. This is a critical role for GMI, and you will work in a marketing team which is leading the transformation of the company’s business. You’ll need to have a deep understanding of how traffic on the web is acquired and converted, and you’ll need to combine information from web analytics with your own knowledge and experience to help us create a state of the art acquisition pipeline.
Responsibilities:
Manage a set of consumer-focused websites to acquire respondents for our online market research services.
Work with marketing managers to identify what types of conversions are needed and at what cost.
Manage traffic generation activities, including PPC and other online advertising campaigns.
Own the key metrics for conversion ratio and effective acquisition cost.
Coordinate with other team members to optimize messaging, design, usability and other site attributes.
Modify and update web content.
Manage data analytics and multivariate testing tools to create and test hypotheses for site improvements, and report key findings to senior management.
Think broadly about the company’s B2C business and propose new site development projects as needed
Qualifications:
3+ years experience in finding, attracting and converting web traffic.
Broad exposure to core marketing functions, such as segmentation and value proposition generation
Deep skills in search engine marketing, online advertising, web analytics, and landing page optimization
Demonstrated success leading or contributing to full site development projects (not simply assuming day-to-day management of an existing site)
Experience using A/B or multivariate testing using tools such as Google Site Optimizer, Omniture Test & Target, etc.
Good knowledge of user interface design principles.
Aptitude for solving marketing challenges with both creative and analytical approaches.
Excellent communication skills, and ability to clearly summarize challenges and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences
A can-do attitude, and willingness to work around problems
Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects simultaneously, in a fast-paced environment
Functional knowledge of standard web technologies such as HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX and Flash (coding or deep technical skills are not necessary for this role)
Knowledge of the online market research industry a plus
